Hart, 90.9 The Bridge nominated for national broadcasting awards

WARRENSBURG, Mo.-- KTBG-FM 90.9 The Bridge, the
University of Central Missouri's public broadcasting radio station, has earned nominations for two national FMQB Triple-A Awards.
The station is among five to be nominated for Non-Commercial Triple-A Station of the Year. In addition, Jon Hart, program director for 90.9 The Bridge, has been nominated for Non-Commercial Triple-A Program Director of the Year.
The two awards place 90.9 The Bridge in competition station in larger markets from across the country. Additional nominees for Station of the Year are KCMP-Minneapolis-St. Paul; WFPK-Louisville; WFUV-New York; and WXPN-Philadelphia.
In addition to Hart, those nominated for ProgramDirector of the Year are Bruce Warren, WXPN-Philadelphia; Kyle Smith, WYEP-Pittsburgh; Jim McGuinn, KCMP-Minneapolis; and Stacy Owen, WFPK, Louisville.
"The other nominees, both for station of the year and program
director of the year, have served as an inspiration for what we do at 90.9 The Bridge," Hart said. "There is a great deal of pride in the nominations among our staff, but also a resolve to work in coming years to be deserving of the recognition."
This is Hart's first nomination for the award. The Bridge was
nominated for Station of the Year in 2008, when WXPN-Philadelphia took home the award.
The award will be presented during a special session of the FMQB
Triple-A Summit Aug. 14 in Boulder, Colo. The awards were not presented last year, as the summit shifted from Radio & Records to its current host FMQB.
Selection of nominees was made by a panel of 20 industry leaders
from record labels, independent promoters and music industry
professionals.
"These nominations are proof that 90.0 The Bridge and its staff are recognized by their peers for excellence in serving an exceptional audience," said Don Peterson, UCM director of broadcasting services.
"An exceptional group of staff and students make the station an
industry leader that is deserving of this recognition," he said.
