The No. 20-ranked Mules finished 2-2 Sunday at the Dual Jamboree inside the Multipurpose Building. Cory Bloodgood (141 weight class) led the way by winning all four of his matches to give him 100 wins in his career, becoming just the sixth Mule in history to accomplish the feat.

"Cory did well Sunday," coach Robin Ersland said. "Cory also became second all-time in career tech falls, near falls, and reversals at UCM."

Bloodgood said he was happy to get his 100th victory.

"I had 75 wins coming into this year, and I knew I should have got it sooner," he said. "It was nice to get it at home."

Sunday was the first time Bloodgood went undefeated in an event this season.

"We only went 2-2 as a team," said Bloodgood of the team's performance. "It would have been nice to win one more of those duals, but we have another month of work until regionals."

The Mules will go on the road Thursday to face Southern Illinois-Edwardsville at 7 p.m.

The Dual Jamboree attracted a handful of ranked teams as well as several ranked individuals in their weight classes.

Against other ranked squads in the Jamboree, the Mules (2-5) fell to No. 7 Wisconsin-Parkside, 28-9, and No. 15 Findlay, 32-9.

Without a wrestler at 125 pounds, the Mules gave each opponent a 6-0 lead to begin every match.

Even with fewer wrestlers, the Mules did defeat Chadron State 22-19 in the first round.

Marcus Walker (133), Bloodgood, Brandon Russow (149), Matt Bailes (174), Phil Witt (184), and Brandon Hayes (285) earned victories against Chadron State.

In the second-round loss to Wisconsin-Parkside, only Walker, Bloodgood, and Hayes earned victories for the Mules in the loss.

In the third round, the Mules defeated Mary 24-15. In that match Walker, Bloodgood, Russow, Bailes, Witt, and Hayes were victorious.

In the fifth-round loss to Findlay, only Bloodgood and Jesse Whitson (149) won matches in the dual.

"Sunday we had a couple of good duals as we won against really good teams," Hayes said. "We had a chance to beat some teams, but we didn't get there. I don't think we're in good enough shape yet. Hopefully, we'll do better next time."
