"I am very grateful for my time with my players. Tonight means so much to me. A lot of my friends came a long distance. I'm so joyful for all of you being here, and especially for all the players that have put up with me through the years.

I've been working a long a time with Jerry. He's been my boss for 27 years. Athletic directors are always fun to work with, but Jerry has always supported me and let me do my job.

I'm thankful he knew nothing about volleyball, and he's been great to work for. The community has been great to me.

When I came here 33 years ago, I thought I was going to stay for a couple of years. Well, you know what happened. I love the town, I love the place, I love the school and I love all of you.

For all my friends thank you all so much. Joyful, joyful!"
